Affirmation Cards with Stand by Something Different - Product Review

Affirmation Cards with Stand by Something Different - Product Review

Hi everyone!

I thought I'd do something a little different today. Instead of simply showcasing a product, I'm going to share my thoughts on one of the products I stock here at TigerLilyKay: the Affirmation Cards by Something Different.

As I sell this product myself, I'm naturally familiar with it, but I still want to give you my honest opinion about what I like and what I think could be improved.

First Impressions

This set contains 10 affirmation cards and a wooden stand painted in gold. There are a few different designs available, with slight variations between them.

Each card features a positive, uplifting message, making the set a lovely little addition to a desk, bedside table or other space where you'd like a daily reminder.

But what did I think of the set itself?

Highlights

1. The card quality

The cardstock feels quite sturdy. The cards don't bend easily, and they're nice to handle.

2. The wooden stand

The stand is one of my favourite parts of this set! I love the gold finish and the engraved words, "Dream - Believe - Receive."

The cards lean back slightly when placed in the stand, and you can fit two cards in it at once. I can also see myself using the stand with some of my other tarot cards.

3. The card backgrounds

I really like the background designs. They feature beautiful landscape imagery, with slight variations across the cards.

4. The gold detailing

The gold lettering and outlines give the cards an elegant appearance. I think this detailing complements the backgrounds nicely.

5. The packaging

I also appreciate that the back of the packaging shows what each card looks like. It's a useful little detail because you can see the designs and messages included in the set before purchasing.

Lowlights

1. I would have liked more cards

My biggest criticism is that the set only contains 10 cards. I think a collection of 30 cards would offer more variety and give you more affirmations to choose from.

That said, if you're looking for a small set rather than a large deck, 10 cards might be enough for you.

2. The plain card backs

The backs of the cards are plain. Personally, I would have liked to see a soft pink background to match the colour of the box, or perhaps the words "Affirmation Cards" printed on them.

It's a relatively small detail, but I think it could have made the overall design feel more cohesive.

3. Some of the lettering clashes with the background

Although the messages are generally easy to read, there are one or two cards where the background competes with the lettering.

For example, on the "You are enough just as you are" card, some of the gold stars overlap with the second "Are". I would have preferred the text to stand out a little more clealy.

My Final Verdict

Overall, I think these affirmation cards and their gold stand make a lovely little gift for someone who enjoys positive messages and decorative accessories.

The sturdy cards, attractive landscape designs and gold detailing are definite highlights. However, I would have liked a larger selection of affirmations, and I think a few small design improvements could make the set better.

My rating: 7/10.

I'd consider giving it a higher rating if the set offered more cards, although I still think the stand and overall presentation are lovely features.

One thing I particularly like is the versatility of the stand. I'll definitely be trying it out with some of my other tarot cards!

Have you tried these affirmation cards, or do you have a favourite affirmation deck? I'd love to hear what you think!
