You may have noticed all the sun imagery throughout the TigerLilyKay website, along with the mentions of one particular Tarot card: The Sun.
There’s a reason for that.
Whilst many Tarot shops lean into a darker, gothic aesthetic filled with moons, deep purples and mysterious imagery, TigerLilyKay has always felt a little different to me.
I wanted it to feel bright, warm, hopeful and inviting.
And for me, there was no better card to represent that feeling than The Sun.
The Brightest Card in the Deck
The Sun is genuinely one of the most positive cards you can pull in a Tarot reading.
Like every Tarot card, The Sun can have different meanings depending on the reading and the person interpreting it. But its energy is usually unmistakably positive.
Joy. Confidence. Success. Optimism
These are some of the key themes associated with The Sun.
To me, The Sun is a comforting card.
It feels like that moment when the clouds finally break and the sunlight comes through. A reminder that things can get better. That you can move forward. That there is still something to look towards.

The Sun is warm.
It’s bright.
It’s welcoming.
And that’s the feeling I want to create.

There is another reason I love The Sun.
The Sun reveals.
Where the Moon can represent the unknown, hidden fears, uncertainty or things that aren’t quite what they seem, the Sun brings things into the light.
It illuminates what was hidden.
And I think there is something beautiful about that.
Sometimes we spend so much time worrying about what we can’t see that we forget to look at what is right in front of us.
The Sun reminds us to step into the light.
To see things clearly.
To embrace what is good.
To have confidence in ourselves.
And to keep moving forward.
