ANY FOOL CAN LEARN TAROT

I’ve heard people try to put down Tarot readings because apparently, “any fool can read Tarot cards.”

And honestly, this has to be one of my favourite things about Tarot.

Because… they’re kind of right.

Anyone can learn Tarot.

And I actually love that.

I love that if you want to learn Tarot, there are books, guides and other resources out there that can help you. I love that you don’t have to be born with some special ability or have an innate gift to pick up a deck and start learning.

Tarot can be inclusive.

You can decide that you want to learn it, put in the time and effort, and actually develop the skill for yourself.

And I think there is something quite special about that.

Because while anyone can technically learn to read Tarot cards, that doesn’t mean you can just pick up a deck and instantly become a great Tarot reader.

There is a lot to learn.

At first, you might be looking up the meaning of every single card. Eventually, though, you start to know the cards without having to reach for a guidebook every five seconds.

You start recognising patterns.

You start seeing how cards interact with each other.

You start thinking about how the meaning of a card might change depending on the question or the other cards around it.

And then there is intuition.

Because a Tarot reading isn’t just:

“This card means this; therefore, the answer is this.”

You actually have to interpret what you’re looking at and apply it to the situation in front of you.

That takes practice.

It takes time, energy and effort.

You’re learning a craft that has been around for a very long time.

Some readers use it for divination. Others use it for reflection, self-exploration or connecting with their intuition.

Personally, I love using Tarot as a way to reflect and connect with my intuition. But I also think there are some incredibly talented Tarot readers who use the cards for divination.

I don’t think you have to use Tarot in exactly the same way as someone else to appreciate it.

And that brings me back to The Fool.

Because if someone wants to tell me that any fool can learn Tarot, I’ll happily embrace it.

The Fool is the beginner. They’re curious. They’re willing to take that first step even though they don’t know everything yet.

And isn’t that what learning something is?

You start without knowing.

You learn.

You practice.

You make mistakes.

You get better.

So yes.

Any fool can learn Tarot.
